Lita Rossana Ford (also also known in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. It wasn't possible for the band to be an instant hit in the United States, but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career was successful after the 1979 split of the band. After taking lessons in singing, she debuted her own solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. Her albums weren't very popular and she went on hiatus for several years. The year was 1988, when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". The lead song "Kiss My Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. But her fame was only short-lived and she vanished from the music industry for a few years. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
