Andra Day and Andi Matichak

Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is an American R&B/Soul songwriter and singer. She has won an Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nominations are also among her accolades. Andra Days is an impressive artist who also writes well. She is not only a specialist in retro R&B, her musical origins are in blues and gospel jazz. Her debut single Cheers to Autumn (2015) was a top hit on the R&B/hiphop charts. Her contributions to Marshall (2017) have earned her a Grammy Award as well as an Academy Award. Amen (2018) Take Care of Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance in Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) are continuing to create expectations for her second album. Andra Day is the daughter of Cassandra Monique Batie and grew in Edmonds Washington. While in San Diego, she attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts as well as performed in church. When she left the School of Creative and Performing Arts, andra Day began to focus on contemporary R&B and pop, but she soon discovered that her roots in soulful jazz were what she was drawn to. Kai Millard Morris, who saw a live show by Day and brought her songs to Stevie Wonder's husband was the biggest breakthrough. Motown legend Adrian Gurvitz was introduced to Day by the Motown legend. Day joined forces with Gurvitz's Buskin label as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, gained a cult following on YouTube and signed by Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut song Forever Mine. It was quickly taken up by DJs who began playing it on the radio. She subsequently joined Warner Bros. Records and started cooperating with her producer, Adrian Gurvitz to record her debut album Cheers to the Autumn (2015). It featured the hit song"Rise Up" which became the anthem for social justice movements around all over the world. Day was nominated for two Grammy Awards with the latter being Best R&B Album. The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a concept-album on the famous jazz musician's life was released in 2019. The United States Versus Billie Holiday is a biographical account of Holiday which was released in the same year. Andi Matichak, a American actress. Her first appearance was on television series such as 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her movie debut in the role of Allyson Nelson on the film horror series Halloween as well as its sequels. Andi Mattichak was born on May 3, 1994, in Framingham Massachusetts.
